Under UK GDPR and the Consumer Credit Act, credit agencies must ensure data is accurate. You have the right to:
• Dispute any inaccurate entry
• Have errors corrected within 28 days
• Add a notice of correction to your file
• Complain to the ICO if they refuse

Dispute Process
1. Get your free credit report
2. Identify incorrect entries
3. Write to the credit agency
4. Agency investigates (28 days)
5. If rejected → complain to ICO
6. Also dispute directly with the bank
Common Errors
• Payments marked late when they weren't
• Accounts that aren't yours
• Settled debts shown as active
• Wrong credit limits
• Outdated defaults (>6 years)
