In bouldering, tops beat everything. Enter two climbers' results and this applies the ranking order — most tops, then fewest attempts to top, then most zones, then fewest attempts to zone — and declares who places higher.

How boulderers are ranked

Tops come first: more tops always beats fewer, regardless of attempts. Then fewer attempts to reach those tops, then more zones (the mid-route hold), then fewer attempts to reach the zones. “Attempts to top” only counts for boulders actually topped — a flash (first try) is the cheapest top you can have.
