A blank page, a word goal and a streak you do not want to break. Write every day — 750 words is the classic target, but any goal works — and this counts the words, keeps your streak, shows you the calendar and lets you export what you wrote. Private by design: every word stays in this browser.
Why a daily target at all? The 750-word figure comes from the "morning pages" tradition: three longhand pages, roughly 750 words, written before the day starts. The number is not magic — the point is that it is long enough to push past the obvious thoughts into the useful ones, and short enough to finish in twenty minutes. Set it to whatever makes you come back tomorrow.
The streak counts consecutive days where you reached your goal. Today does not have to be finished for the streak to stand — if you have not written today yet it counts back from yesterday, so the number you see is the streak you are protecting, not one you have already lost. Miss a day and it resets; that is the whole mechanism.
Storage: entries, goal and timer live in this browser's local storage only. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no network request is made. Clearing your browser data erases your writing, which is what the export buttons are for — Download everything gives you every entry as one dated Markdown file.
