🐦 Drinking Bird

The classic heat-engine desk toy — a bird that perpetually dips its beak into water using thermodynamics

How it works
Evaporative cooling on the wet head creates a temperature difference between the head and bottom bulb. This causes the methylene chloride vapor inside to condense, making the bird tip forward. When the beak dips in water, the head gets wet again, and the cycle repeats.

Controls
Start — begin the oscillation
Wet Head — manually wet the head
Heat Lamp — increase evaporation rate
Temp — ambient temperature
