Star Magnitude
Brighter stars have lower magnitudes:
• 1.0 — very bright (Sirius, Vega)
• 2.0-3.0 — easily visible
• 4.0-5.0 — faint, need dark sky
• 6.0+ — binoculars/telescope needed
Best Time to See
• Orion — Winter (Dec-Feb)
• Scorpius — Summer (Jun-Aug)
• Ursa Major — Year-round (N. hemisphere)
• Cassiopeia — Year-round (N. hemisphere)
