Plan a thoughtful Bonfire Night with a practical checklist for guests, neighbours and animals.

A checklist is not a safety inspection. Follow the organiser and local fire service advice.

Choose an organised public display where possible and check the organiser’s rules. Check the weather, access arrangements, cancellation policy and travel home. Tell neighbours the date and likely times, especially those with pets or livestock. Agree a meeting point and make a plan for children or anyone needing assistance. Keep exits and access routes clear; follow the venue’s instructions. Keep pets safely at home and plan for noise before the display starts. If using fireworks privately, follow the packaging and Firework Code; never return to a lit firework. Clear cooled debris safely afterwards; do not touch unexploded fireworks.
