Shared house, road trip, group holiday or a flat's running costs: log who paid what and who it was for, and this works out everyone's balance and the fewest transfers that settle the whole group. Every amount stays on this device — no account, no upload, and it still works with the wifi off.
Each expense is divided equally between the people you tick in Split between, so an expense of 60.00 shared by three people puts 20.00 on each of their ledgers. The payer is credited the full amount. A person's balance is what they paid minus their share of everything: positive means they are out of pocket, negative means they still owe.
The settle-up list is produced by repeatedly matching the largest creditor with the largest debtor and moving the smaller of the two amounts across, which always settles n people in at most n − 1 transfers. Balances are rounded to whole cents first, so the plan never leaves a stray fraction behind.
Your people and expenses are saved in this browser's local storage so the list survives a refresh. Clearing your browser data removes it — nothing is uploaded anywhere, and no network request is made.
