A plain, fast notepad that saves itself as you type. Several notes in tabs, live word and character counts, find & replace, and one-click download as .txt — all stored in this browser, never on a server.
Storage. Notes are written to this browser's localStorage about half a second after you
stop typing, and again when you switch tab, switch note or leave the page. That means: they survive a reboot, they
are only on this device and this browser (a phone and a laptop do not share them), and "clear browsing data" or a
private window closing will delete them. Download anything you would mind losing — Ctrl+S does it.
Shortcuts. Ctrl+S download · Ctrl+F find & replace · Ctrl+Alt+N new note · Esc closes the find bar · Tab inserts a tab character instead of moving focus (Shift+Tab leaves the box).
Counts. Words are runs of letters, numbers or apostrophes separated by spaces, so "don't" is one word and "e-mail" is two — the same rule most word processors use. Reading time assumes 200 words a minute.
Limits. Browsers allow roughly 5 MB per site in local storage — about two million words. The status line warns when you are close. Nothing is encrypted at rest, so keep passwords in a password manager, not here.
