The image is generated at 300 dpi, which is what a printer wants for crisp lines: an A4 page comes out at 2480 × 3508 pixels, about the size of a good photo. Print at "actual size" or "100%" — if your print dialogue defaults to "fit to page" it may scale the sheet by a few per cent, which quietly ruins 5 mm graph paper.
Paper sizes are exact: A4 is 210 × 297 mm, A5 is 148 × 210 mm, US Letter is 216 × 279 mm. The grid is measured in real millimetres from the edge of the paper, so a 5 mm grid really is 5 mm once printed — that is the whole point of generating it here rather than screenshotting a web page.
Everything is drawn on your own device with the browser's canvas: no file is uploaded, no request is made, and the page works fully offline. Choose grey ink if you want the lines to disappear slightly under handwriting, and cream if you will be reading by lamplight for hours.
