🎱 Snooker Snookers-Required Calculator

The question every frame hinges on: can the player behind still win, and how many snookers do they need? Set the balls left on the table and the score, and this works out the points remaining, the maximum break, and exactly how many fouls it will take.

Ball values & the maths

Red 1, Yellow 2, Green 3, Brown 4, Blue 5, Pink 6, Black 7. Points on the table = reds × 8 (each red with the black) plus the colours still to come. A foul costs the value of the ball on, minimum 4 — so one snooker is worth between 4 and 7 points depending on what is on.
