🔉 Tinnitus & Hearing Relief Studio

Nothing here cures tinnitus — no app does. What helps is not silence: a quiet, boring sound at or just below the pitch of the noise stops your brain listening for it. This makes those sounds on the spot (nothing is downloaded, nothing is streamed), lets you match your own pitch and carve it out with a notch filter, and runs a session timer that fades out instead of stopping dead.

1 · The sound

Soundscape

Set it so you can still hold a conversation over it. Louder is not better — full masking keeps your ear working at the noise.

Low = brown noise (rumble), high = white noise (hiss).

Not running. Sound starts only when you press start — your browser insists on that.
2 · Match and notch your pitch

Sweep the slider until the tone sits on top of your tinnitus, then raise the notch depth. A notch carves that frequency out of the soundscape — the idea behind notched-sound training: the brain gets everything except the pitch it keeps inventing. Evidence is modest, the risk is low, and many people prefer a plain (0 dB) soundscape. Try both.

3 · Session timer
30:00

The last 30 seconds fade out, so it never stops dead.

4 · Safe listening limits

Get same-day medical help (urgent GP, urgent care or A&E, as you would for sudden vision loss) if hearing goes suddenly or fast, especially in one ear: treatment that works has to start within about 72 hours.

See a GP and ask for referral if the noise is only in one ear, if it pulses in time with your heartbeat, if it comes with dizziness, a headache, or any weakness or numbness, or if it is new and not explained by a loud event.

What actually has evidence behind it: hearing aids if you have hearing loss (most people with tinnitus do, and often do not know), CBT, and sound therapy — which is what this is for. No supplement, ginkgo, or drop has been shown to silence tinnitus.

Habits that help: keep background sound at night, protect your ears at gigs and with power tools, keep headphones near 60% and take breaks, and do not put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

Sound is generated live in your browser with the Web Audio API. Nothing is uploaded, stored or fetched. Use headphones or speakers — never earbuds at a level you would not say yes to twice, and never while driving or operating machinery.
