🧱 Stud & Wall Framing Calculator

Frame a wall the way a carpenter would: enter the wall length, stud spacing, openings and corners, and get the stud count, plate lumber and headers to order.

How the count works

Start with one stud every 16" or 24" plus one extra for the far end, then add two studs per opening (king + trimmer) and two per corner for a three-stud corner. Plates are the horizontal 2×4s — a single bottom plate and a doubled top plate (three runs of the wall length). Headers are the lintels over each opening.
