Cooperative Surplus Splitter

Cooperative Surplus Splitter

Make a cooperative’s surplus distribution understandable to every member. Set an agreed reserve share, then compare equal-member, contribution-weighted and blended allocations that add up exactly.

Informational arithmetic, not financial, tax or legal advice. Determine lawful distributable surplus and member entitlements locally; this is not a payroll calculator or a payment service. Last reviewed: 2026-10-05. Browser-only worksheet: no uploads, accounts or automatic saving. Use one agreed master copy; this is not a synchronised multi-user service. Export before closing and share only with consent.

One line: member alias | non-negative contribution weight

How this works and what it cannot do

Reserve = rounded surplus × reserve %. Remaining cents are split using equal share × (1 / members) plus weighted share × (member weight / total weight). Largest-remainder rounding preserves every cent; ties use member order. These are visitor-chosen weights, not a judgment of deservingness. Tax, wages and legal obligations must already be allowed for.
